Would she be recognized for her actions/or reported? It’s possible, though unlikely. Natalie’s good at covering her tracks, and her actions have never left enough pinned on her to have her reported for national, or local, television. Considering she’s a French thief, and reported as French, both her sudden change in appearance and ‘British accent’ would likely throw people off. It would unlikely for someone to recognize her, but it could be a good plot.
Would she continue her thievery in town? Oh, almost definitely. Natalie would likely be unable to resist if she saw something particularly shiny, even if her goal in town was to lay low. Pickpocketing for money would likely be her biggest crime, but dangle something shinny enough in front of her face and Natalie will snatch it up so fast you won’t even know what hit her.
Friendships? Natalie’s goal is to lay low, not including her general practiced politeness to the majority of society and her disdain for the other part. Someone to catch her off guard would possibly work in a normal situation, but it’d probably take a bit more than the norm for Natalie to form a strong bond with someone, either a rare situation or person. However, she’s been pretty isolated in her life of crime, and is actually, unsurprisingly, lonely, which might cause her to seek out relationships easily.
Romance? The likelihood of a romance is slim. The most likely situation you’d see using romance in would likely be as leverage to get closer to her target or marked goods. She’s seduced people before to get their jewels, and she really wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. Genuine attraction/romantic involvement would take a more extreme situation to force the two together and get a bond strong enough going, as Natalie has some pretty rough trust issues due to her life of crime.
Enemies? From people she’s robbed—both good men and bad—Natalie has more enemies and people gunning for her than the population of New York. Okay, well, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, but from her old circus master to that powerful mafia overlord she conned forty k out of to that man she pickpocketed yesterday, Natalie’s got them all. Whether they act as a common bond between another charrie, a plot element, or you want to add your charrie to her list, it all goes.
