Overview: A city girl with quirky parents and a rebellious streak that hasn't quite happened yet (unless you count her tattoos). Sera's a shy girl with a name that draws a lot of attention she'd rather not have. The only time she doesn't mind being front and centre is when she's dancing, and she's damn good at it too. Her parents enrolled her in lessons thinking it would help her get out of her shell. She's 21, newly legal, but has no prolonged interest in doing anything that she's officially allowed to do. She's picky and a bit of a wallflower, but her childhood fantasies of being confident and strong like her favourite superheroes made her dye her hair red and become a part-time bartender at a popular club. She's the best at her job, but that might be because she's the only one who doesn't drink on the clock -- or drink all that much in general!
She loves to shop, but hates to spend. Despite her frugality, she still manages to keep up a wardrobe of fashionable essentials and a collection of designer shoes (though she loves her ratty DC sneakers best). Plaid shirts used to fill her closet, but since moving to Coral Ridge, she's replaced most of them with dresses and her shoe collection gained a lot more sandals and flip-flops.
Sera's a friendly girl, but her shyness gets in the way of most social encounters so she comes off as awkward and a little cold on the off-chance that she's having a bad day. However, her interviews for jobs are top-notch and employers like her attitude, so her shyness definitely hasn't affected her resume in the slightest. She's had jobs in three different cities varying from graphic design to dancing, with CSR and secretarial jobs from her high school and college days. She never saw the need to have a university education because her goals, just like her, are simple and uncomplicated. One day she'll bust out a superhero comic of her own to inspire others just like Marvel and DC did for her.

[/size]Overview: Seraphina's parents were the quirky kind who loved coffee and other hot beverages so much that they owned their own coffee shop in Brooklyn. Sera worked there as a part-timer through her high school years, but held other jobs too since her parents wanted her to experience life outside of their quaint little world of coffee beans and hot chocolate. However, despite good business and a never-ending supply of coffee, Sera wasn't allowed to even touch caffeine unless it was the occasional Dr. Pepper. Originally the idea for her was to take over the coffee shop, but after much debating her parents decided that they wanted her to experience life elsewhere and live the way she wanted before setting her sights solely on their little family business. A shy girl would never get anywhere if she didn't have life experience, and her parents stuck to that theory until she caved and decided it was probably best. Two wrist tattoos and a red hair-dye later, she was ready to face the world as she saw fit -- as a confident young woman like the ones she idolized in her comic books.
College took her to Washington, since her savings and her parents college fund for her could afford the expense, and she studied graphic design, took some art courses on the side, and thought about becoming a tattoo artist in order to help other people like her express themselves when words wouldn't come out. The idea was trashed when she scored a job as an intern at a small-town animation studio who was impressed with her portfolio from college.
After that she held many other jobs and filled up her resume fast. Her parents had always called her a hard worker and she moved from city to city all over the states, and even had an internship in England for a summer term, but when she got back home to the little coffee shop in Brooklyn, her mind was so overloaded with how she wanted to live her life. Her parents decided now was the time for her well-deserved vacation so she could mull over her thoughts.
Enter Coral Ridge, where celebrities go to vacation and the resorts are gorgeous. After staying for two weeks, Sera decided to apply for a job because sitting still never suited her, and she found a dance studio taking applications for teacher status. After applying and going through a rigorous interview process which included showing off her skills, she got the job and used her savings to get a nice enough apartment. A year later and she's still going strong as a Latin dance teacher, and her parents aren't worried about her future in the slightest.

Roleplay Sample: (actually haven't role-played in a good while so this is pretty old. Also Orbital 7 is a robot that followed Kaito around so I had to RP as both)
Kaito felt as if he stood over the world when he was at the very top floor of the Heartland Tower. His brother slept only feet away from his position staring out the window, out to the brilliant glowing view of Heartland nightlife.
The glow for him was, however, dimmed and distorted. He knew what really went on in Heartland. He’d seen the underbelly and tasted it’s consequences too many times. He rolled his right shoulder back in memory of a past injury, and if he thought about it he could swear the pain came back.
Orbital 7 stood beside him, presumably in sleep mode, but Kaito knew better than to think it’d leave him alone for more than a few seconds unless directly ordered to.
With one last glance back at the city — a place of smog and crowds and noise, not of lights and dreams — he flicked Orbital on it’s head casing. After a moment of confusion, it’s red and black optics focused on Kaito, waiting for instruction.
“Let’s go,” he said quietly, turning around to pass Haruto’s bed and watching his chest rise and fall with his breath on the way. The platform released and they went down the tubes to the bottom floor. It had just finished raining, neons lights flashing across the wet pavement. Everything was so colourful, so cheerful, so deceivingly innocent.
It made Kaito sick.
